TripAdvisor made two updates in one day, and both involve Microsoft. TripAdvisor released a new touch-friendly Windows 8.1 app that’s available for free on the Windows Store. The app brings the travel site’s 125 million reviews and opinions, high-resolution photos right on your desktop. The most significant thing about the partnership is that TripAdvisor is now also integrated with Bing Smart Search. Any travel-related search on Bing will now display content from TripAdvisor, helping you make intelligent travel decisions.
Bing Search will show you TripAdvisor reviews, photos, hotel ratings, and hotel price comparison information from the same tool that’s on the site. The Hotel Price Comparison tool from TripAdvisor not only enables travelers stick to budgets but also plan their logistics during the journey. Costs savings can be calculated instantly and hotels booked instantly. The at-a-glance travel information integrated with Bing search results is a huge time saver when you can do everything within a few clicks.

In the U.S., we are partnering with Bing to embed TripAdvisor’s price comparison tools, traveler reviews and photos within search results on Bing.com. Now, when you search for somewhere to stay on Bing, you’ll have instant access to our community’s reviews and ratings without needing to leave the page. And, if you have specific dates in mind, you can see which hotels are available and at what price. You can go from thinking about where to go to being ready to book in a matter of seconds.
