Narrato Journal App Expands Services to Include Facebook Integration and Web Publishing
The iOS journaling app, Narrato (Free), recently received a 2.1 update that, in addition to bug fixes, includes Facebook and App.net integration through it’s Lifestream, and the ability for users to publish selected journals to the web.
Narrato, allows users to add multiple journals, and to connect with, via Settings, social networking services including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Foursquare, App.net, and the activity tracker, Moves. These feeds allow users to add selected content to their journals alongside their personal entries.
The other significant new feature is ability to publish journal content to the web. Tapping on the Edit button of a selected journal and enabling “Publish On Web” creates a URL link to the published journal on Narrato’s server. The assigned URL can be copied and shared or added to the Safari Reading List.
The layout of the web content mirrors the user interface of the iOS apps, and updates to a posted journal automatically get synced to the web version. Narrato doesn’t make a public display of posted journals, but individual web journals can be viewed by anyone with access to the assigned URL.
When you tap and hold on a journal entry, you also get options for editing the content, sharing it, copying it to another journals, or deleting it all together.
The basic services and features of Narrato are free, but if you want unlimited content uploads beyond the monthly 60MB of usage, the service includes in-app subscriptions ranging from $0.99 cents per month, to $39.99 per year. Upgrades are found inside the profile section of the app.
